67 years old with limited arm strength, with a few adjustments.. a wheel jack and handle bar I can easily move this trailer myself. Spent our first camping experience on lake Superior for 4 days which included a major thunderstorm coming across the lake! The camper held up like a champ and I had no leaks with a heavy rain fall. Packed up nice and neat and a breeze to tow behind my SUV! So extremely happy with it!

Mini Mate Camper
Kompact Kamp is old school. This family-owned, second-generation business does two things that seem to be going out of style: It makes a high-quality product here in the US and provides superb customer service. Sheldon at KK was prompt and courteous in answering my pre-purchase questions. He estimated it would take five days to build and ship the Mini Mate I ordered; it shipped midday on day five. The trailer arrived in perfect shape, had no parts damaged or missing, and included the accessories I purchased. No unpleasant surprises. I found the KK Facebook Group webpage to be an abundant source of information and ideas. Sheldon set me straight, however, on some members’ modifications that were questionable or potentially hazardous. KK wants its customers to be happy with their purchase and safe when using it. Old school.
MLMichael L.Verified buyerWhat an awesome camper trailer. The experience of online purchasing, discussion with Sheldon about features and hands on setup during pickup at the Kompact shop was fabulous. Picked it up with my new CanAm Spyder and towed it home to Boston. Never even knew it was there, even with massive 18 wheeler highway wind blasts. I didn't notice any degradation in gas mileage either. Hats off to Sheldon and his family business. I highly recommend the Mini Mate camp trailer. Can't wait to start touring with it.
KSKenneth S.Pick up at the factory, which was the best way to receive it. Fully assembled and personal demonstration of set up. Excellent customer service. Left towing the Mini Mate with my VW Tiguan back to Arkansas. Stopped for two nights camping in Pocahontas County West Virginia. The Mini Mate is to be towed by my Frank-n-glide, looking forward to a great summer.
BPBennie P.Verified buyerExcellent customer support. The website online ordering process was a breeze. Sheldon answered the questions I had and provided additional info that I had thought about. Looking forward to picking up the camper and letting my touring begin.

Will it sleep 2?
Yes, the Mini Mate has a 6.5' x 4.5' full-size bed, which accommodates two adults. The optional Add-a-Room can also be attached to provide an additional 7' x 5' lounge/changing area, which is very beneficial for two travelers.
Can a Klr 650 Tow this, or does it need touring bike?
A KLR 650 is smaller than we recommend for towing a Mini Mate Camper. You can read more about our towing bike recommendations on our blog post here: https://www.kompactkamptrailers.com/post/2017/10/18/can-my-bike-tow-a-mini-mate-camper
How high off the ground is the hitch?
The ball mount on your vehicle hitch should be 11" from the ground.
What is the maximum weight that you can put inside the storage area while traveling?
The Mini Mate Camper has a 1,000 lb axle, so the maximum weight limit for storage is approximately 700 lbs. However, if towing with a motorcycle, you will want to keep the trailer weight optimally at about 1/2 the weight of your motorcycle or a maximum of 2/3 of the weight of your motorcycle.
Is it possible to get the beige/cream colored canvas instead of th the blue/silver one?
No, the old cream vinyl material was discontinued so all campers moving forward will have the newer silver grey/charcoal colored canvas.

It was a pleasure working with you, Michael. Thanks for your kind words regarding the quality of our trailers and our customer service. Treating others the way that we would want to be treated is the only way we know how to do business!
