Kit came complete with easy to follow instructions. I will say that some of the blocks had a few high spots and made the smaller blocks on the next level up rock. The instructions state to handle the is with coins or sand but I found it better to use a grinder I had with a masonry blade on it. Just a couple of hits with it to the high spots and the blocks would level back out and not rock. I only had to do this 5 or 6 times . For the most part everything fit great. Just use your level on every course you lay and make small adjustments if needed. Also the blocks will be very dust . I made use of my blower to remove most of the loose and a brush to get rid of the rest to insure proper glueing. It hasn’t been cool enough here to build a fire yet so I can’t comment on how it burns but it looks great.

The whole process was simple from ordering, shipment and installation. Instructions were straightforward along with the provided photos. Definitely important to start off level. We've gotten several compliments and it goes great with the pool. We love how it looks and honestly its a great value compared to what most will charge for an outdoor fireplace.

My wife and I assembled this over a weekend - about 8-10 hours total. I would 100% recommend this fireplace to anyone interested in a great outdoor experience and relatively simple build skills. I'll include some notes on the great experience in receiving and building it. Ordering: Ordering process was simple. We picked the smaller fireplace (Fremont) due to where we were putting it. We placed the online order and the next day I received a call from Paul to confirm everything (and review in detail the delivery process so there's no surprises). Receiving: As explicitly stated all over the website, FAQs, ordering page and confirmation, they deliver to the curb. Be prepared. We had contractors here doing work so we coordinated them moving them from the road to the backyard. The fireplace was received about 2 weeks after placing the order - very quick. Two of the pallets were in tact, two had lose blocks on top where they shifted (probably during carrier transfer). However, after building it we still had 100% of the blocks, including the spares. Building: Simple enough. As an avid Lego fan, it assembles pretty much the same, except everything is heavy. The Fremont is about 7600lbs, and we moved it a total of twice - once from the pallets to the staging area where we cleaned and lined up the next course, and then onto the build itself. Everything is manageable. My wife staged them from the pallets and I assembled, so we each lifted it all once. Romanstone stresses having the base completely level. Our patio was tapered slightly (about 3/8" front to back of the fireplace footprint) for water runoff so we needed to level the first course. I spoke with Paul and he suggested using roofing shingles under to shim it level, which worked perfectly. After the first course it went quickly (with the exception of the lintel course, which took a little extra time to perfect). We continued to adjust with coins, keeping it level and plumb. The results were outstanding. As for the beast of a capstone, our contractor for the patio hoisted it in a sling with a backhoe arm and placed it gently on top. The results are amazing. I would absolutely recommend this fireplace!

Wanted to add a fireplace to the patio I built. Looked at many different ones and decided on Roman stone Princeton. Watched the YouTube video several times before kit arrived. Thankfully studied the directions because assembly is nothing like video. Wished I would have made a video to share. Can be done in two to three days with a good flunky. Hardest part is adding cap, heavy. Made some modifications but love finished product. Would buy from them again.
