Outstanding product, delivery was wonderful. Directions were easy to follow. I built it mostly myself except for placing the caps on the firewood storage and top of fireplace.. it took me 17 hours total.

After getting several quotes for having a fireplace built which ranged from $15,000 to $25,000 I began researching on do-it-yourself options. I was soon convinced that RomanStone was the best thought out and designed fireplace of the DIY options, plus it looked great. I first installed a concrete pad for the base and then paid a handyman friend to help me assemble the fireplace. We completed it in two (eight hour) days from start to finish, with half the first day spent moving the skids to the back yard utilizing a rented Toro Dingo ($120). It went up without a hitch. My wife wanted a wood mantle instead of the stone mantle, so we drilled two holes for hangers and then simply drilled two holes on the bottom of the wood mantle aligned with the two bolts and voila- happy wife! We love the fireplace and all the friends we’ve invited over are impressed. Smoke goes up and out and it throws a lot of heat. Perfect to extend outside entertaining in cool Ohio fall days! 😀🔥
