I'm thoroughly enjoying my new Duke 10 banjolele. It sounds terrific with either high g or low g strings, and is very comfortable to play. A lot of thought has obviously gone into the design. And then there's the extras. The case is superb and the shoulder strap is an important added bonus. All in all it represents tremendous value for money and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Duke 10 banjolele to any of my friends.
Reviews
- A beautiful, well made instrument that's great fun to play.
- Great value. Look nice. Sound nice.
I bought an extra set of strings when I bought my Duke. Just as well I did because due to me running out of talent I managed to tune the G and octave too low. Of course when I attempted to correct that I manag d to snap the G string. These are advertised as double length strings. And they are because I've got enough left to snap it again. I will try not to of course ! But I really think these are therefore very good value. But after a week or so these strings are holding their tune nicely and only require fine adjustment on the Duke. I like the colour as well.

Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - Like it. Great addition to my (growing) collection
The service I received both pre and post sale was superb. Jamie clearly looks after his customers and is proud of the Duke. I was worried about setting up the bridge. He answered my questions and actually I did it easily. The action on the Duke is really comfortable. The strap was easy to fit. The hard case is handsome and great quality. I have played the Duke in an open mic at the pub and the pickup worked first time and sounded good. I did struggle to get it tuned in initially. But that's likely my bad. However after a week of ownership it's holding its tune nicely. I'm confident in taking it with me now. I think the Duke sounds great. I like to play folk music and for that type of music it sounds good. In my opinion. It's a nice addition to my collection. It is unusual. Nobody else I know here in Kent has one and it's received a lot of attention.
Robin W.Verified buyerThank you so much for your kind words, Robin. Really appreciate you taking the time to leave such great feedback. Enjoy your new baby. Here's hoping the DUKE10 takes Kent by storm! Haha.
Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - Excellent customer service
I had some issues with the sound quality of the first Duke 10-V3 I was sent but Jamie was very receptive to the feedback and eager to make it right. He ended up replacing it and I am thrilled with the result. A fun and quality instrument to add to my collection.

Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - A little beauty
I love my Duke 10-V3. The action is about perfect for me. Feels comfortable to hold. The case is superb and would cost around a £100 on its own. Love the cute little replica keyring. It also came with a decent strap with leather ends, nice. I personally prefer a thinner strap and have fitted one of my ukulele straps. I wouldn't recommend this if you were playing a gig, as the thinner strap is not as substantial as the one provided. Fitting and measuring the bridge position is not difficult, but for peace of mind, it would be nice if there was already an indicator on the head. (if nothing else just a bit of reassurance for the cack handed amongst us) Overall a lovely instrument which I have no doubt will give me years of enjoyment. So pleased I came across the Plaid man reviewing this little beauty.
Kevin E.Verified buyerYour great review and useful feedback is appreciated Kevin. The bridge position marker is on the list for the future :-) Enjoy your "little beauty"!

Just a quick note to give you my thoughts about my new banjo ukulele. From the moment I unboxed it, I was impressed with the beauty and quality of the case. On opening the case and pulling it out, set up was quick and easy. After tuning it up (takes a little time to stretch the strings to maintain the correct tuning)and strumming a few notes and cords, I was impressed. You may want to consider including a tuner with the package. The quality of craftsmanship is truly impressive, and is very easy to play. It has such a unique sound. My correspondence with you was answered quickly which is always appreciated. I appreciate the strap, keychain and stickers. Nice touch. I would recommend this instrument to any of my friends and fellow players.
Craig H.Verified buyerAwesome Craig! Thanks so much for the 5 stars and for taking to time to leave your feedback. A tuner is definitely on the list for the future! Enjoy your new DUKE10 :-)
Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - 1 videoSeet Sounding Plunk-a-plunk-a
After a couple years of thinking, I finally decided to get a Duke 10. I am happy with it. My Duke 10 has a sweet sound, which is brightened with Aquila Red strings. There is sufficient sustain, good volume, just enough plunk-a-plunk-a, and a beautiful resonance. I have played guitar for over 60 years, also five string banjo, ukulele. This is my third banjolele. I find the Duke 10 very playable. The neck shape is comfortable. The nut width is just right for me. I appreciate the armrest and the good quality strap and hard case. Yes, I'm loving my Duke 10 banjo ukulele. Now I've only had this instrument for few weeks, there is more discovery ahead of me.
Longville A.Verified buyerThanks for your endorsement, Longville. I am grateful for you taking the time to get to know your DUKE10 and then leaving such a great review. Enjoy!
Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - I actually bought a second one!
The Duke 10v3 is comfortable and high quality. I haven’t played a musical instrument since I was 10, and was looking for a way to restart my playing with an interest in bluegrass styles. The Duke 10 is light, weight, very well finished,, holds it tune, and has a warm and bright sound. I actually got one just to take with me traveling and camping - or o safe with friends. It just feels good to hold and play, and looks cool. The hard case is a big bonus making it easy to store, and move around.
Robert D.Verified buyerThanks for the positive review, Robert. Enjoy your new musical journey!
Jamie Houstonfrom Duke Banjo Ukuleles - 1 videoAmazing!
Everything about the Duke10 is top shelf. Set up took literally 10min. Intonation is perfect. Love the very high quality case it came with. Sound is bright and snappy without the harsh twang. The only thing I will change is to add a button at the bottom of the headstock for the strap, but that’s a personal preference. Thank you Jamie for your great customer service!
Ken G.Verified buyerKen, your positive feedback is truly appreciated! Feel free to fit a strap button to the heal of the neck joint, just ensure that you drill a hole first, and always screw across the grain, not with the grain. Happy strumming.
