We had an issue with a component. The team responded quickly and shipped us a new unit! We gladly sent them back the old one - it sounds like they wanted to look at it to understand what had gone wrong on it. I'm impressed with a company that takes the time to interact with and help a customer to solve the problem right - this isn't common any more. Very well done.

I live in Oregon and my grandson lives in New York. I bought the coding kit from Amazon as a Christmas present, but he didn't open the box until I visited the following July. We had two cables and no boards. Customer service was fabulous beyond all reasonable expectations. They apologized, sent replacement parts at no cost even though we were past the 90 day period, and kept me apprised with timely professional emails and tracking information throughout the whole process. The kit is well designed and grandson loves it. I highly recommend the product and the company!

Excellent customer service. Our code rocket was shipped with a broken part and was immediately replaced. Our next code rocket had trouble connecting. After repeated attempts we contacted customer service and they helped us diagnose the problem; a broken usb cable. They shipped us a new cable and the problem was fixed. Our son is very excited to start coding!

I got out the coding kit for my 8 year old after not using it for a little while (we have recently moved) and we noticed the speaker was missing. I contacted customer service to find out if we could buy a replacement part and it was super easy.

Have you ever introduced a new hobby to your child only to be pleasantly surprised that she/he fell in love with it from the get-go? Well, Code Rocket by Let's Start Coding was that pleasant surprise for me with my eleven-year-old daughter, and for that I am thankful! Before Code Rocket, my daughter's only experience was with programs that pretty much do the work for you such as MIT's Scratch or coding toys that spell everything out for you and you just do minimal work. This project dives so much deeper, teaching your child eight and older how to configure the code directly from their computer. It's pretty incredible how nicely the lessons are set up. Such complex ideas are presented in a simple, fun, and engaging manner. You can tell that a lot of thought and work went into creating this program. I am extremely impressed. I see how engaged my daughter gets, I see how she feels a sense of accomplishment after each lesson, and I see how she is excited to try another lesson the following day. This shows me that the lessons aren't too short nor are they too long. They are perfect bite-sized chunks for the intended age. I had some issues getting the car to work initially. So I reached out and the Let’s Start Coding team was amazing at helping me walk through a variety of things until everything was working perfectly. (I want to point out that they didn’t even know I was a blogger working with them during all this!) They are just extremely dedicated to making sure their customers are happy with their purchases and that everything runs as it should. My kids have been having a great time learning the basics of typed code through these hands-on electronic gadgets.

After getting our feet wet with the Code Rocket, my kids wanted to do more programming. This surprised me since they had previously been bored with visual computer programming a while ago and I hadn’t found any homeschool coding curriculum that they liked. The set up is simple and my students were able to do it on their own.We really like how simple the lesson interface is on the website. There are no accounts and passwords to remember, you just open the webpage and select your lesson and go. My eight and 12 year olds are each working independently. The Code Lab offers 100 different lessons divided into 9 chapters. Some lessons take longer than others, so some days my students complete several lessons at a time and other days not so much. Due to their age difference, they can each work at their own pace. Using the knowledge learned during the Chapter 3 lessons on conditionals, my 12 year old decided to challenge herself to write the code needed to play a popular song and have matching lights as well. Using Code lab has been a positive experience for both of my kids. The lessons are hands-on and multi-sensory to keep their focus. The simple lesson interface is clean and simple, since students are not pushed through the lessons it is easy to review a previous lesson or repeat it when needed. The main instruction is provided by video so students with reading delays are not hindered. Some of the commands in the code are color coded which helps my dyslexic student recognize when a misspelling could be part of the programming error. I have been pleasantly surprised by the new interests that the Code Lab kit has ignited in my students. We have tried other online coding activities but they do not hold their attention like the Code Lab. Having the physical circuit board to hold and manipulate with their lines of code is satisfying and makes it tangible to the students.With 9 chapters of material in 100 lessons I will be filling an entire semester with the Code Lab.

My 6th grade daughter was super excited to try out Code Rocket. Don't let the small size fool you! Although it's small, there are so many intricate coding activities included. Code Rocket is a great introduction to coding for middle school students. I definitely recommend checking it out.

I used Code Rocket with my 13 year old for our homeschool STEM studies.
