This kit is the perfect bridge to bring beginner or intermediate levels from block coding to text based coding and to introduce physical computing with C++. The kit allows the user to experience how different external components are programmed by a microprocessor. It builds a solid foundation for advancing on to Arduino projects. I would highly recommend this kit for schools to use with middle school student as part of a computer science curriculum.

I have found the components in this kit to be high quality and reliable. More importantly this kit is well thought out. No, it doesn't have 500 components, but most of the time kids don't need/use all those anyway. Every piece in this kit is used in the lessons and thoughtfully added because it serves a purpose. I loved the packaging because it keeps things organized and my kid loved it because it feels special and "official". Everything stays in one place when she's done using it so I'm not hunting down parts all the time :) . Even though I'm not the actual coder I have looked over the lessons and I'm impressed with how things are laid out in a sequence. It's lots of little experiments for her to try. As a mom who has tried lots of these types of things to get/keep my daughter interested in STEM, I recommend.

Yes, it's a box of electronics, but they also have a whole website with tutorials that the kids follow. So instead of getting bored and asking you what to do next, it's right there for them to do!! Awesome! I bought 3 kits from this company and my kid likes them all.
