As a long time tippler, I have had the privilege of drinking some of the finest whisk(e)y ever put in a bottle. My preferences run to Scotch, Rye, and Irish whisk(e)y but, in the realm of rye, I compare all to the outstanding Sazerac 18yo which alas is no longer available or, if it can be found, is no longer affordable for mere mortals. Back in the day, my father, my brother, and I, polished off many a bottle of that pinnacle of rye perfection. The Resurgent Rye from Revivalist is the only rye today which approaches that level of rye deliciousness. This is a spectacular rye, both for sipping and cocktails, and for rye connoisseurs as well as newbies. Add in a reasonable price point, great service from the distillery, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
