The kit was fun to put together. Keeping the build plum and level is the key. I built the fireplace by myself except for the top piece which was the toughest part of the build. But my friends and I got it done!

I like the fireplace. It looks great and added a nice functional touch to my patio. I upgraded with chimney extensions and side wood boxes. Only negative so far is that I was sent incorrect instructions for the wood boxes, but I found the right version on their website.

Looks great and assembly for very straightforward. I had purchased two extensions, one for the base and one for the chimney. There were a lot of bad or broken stones, so much that I didn’t use the chimney extension. I will use what stone is left over to add an edging around the fireplace to allow for easy mowing. All in all very satisfied with the results.
KMKathleen M.Verified buyer Great experience, high quality instructions and only took a weekend to build. Completed fireplace looks great and we get tons of compliments. I have already recommended Midwest to several friends and you can't beat the value. Only complaint would be about the shipping company however Paul took care of that for me within an hour. Great customer service.

My wife and I spent about 8hrs setting up the Freemont. Wow is it a great product. I read all the reviews and looked at all the pictures before we purchased and they were extremely helpful. Shipping was fast and easy. I would highly recommend Romanstone products. We couldn't be happier Scott and Karen

I rarely leave reviews, but this product and the customer service were top notch. It would be a disservice not to leave a review. The process of ordering was simple and I was notified every step of the way. I was personally called within 24 hours confirming the order and color. They let me know the time frame of the shipping. A week later, I received another phone call, telling me how they loaded the order on the truck and when to expect the shipment. The shipment came with everything included, including several additional blocks. The driver took the time and effort to place the 4 pallets of stone right next to my garage. The build was straight forward. It took about 4 evenings after work for several hours apiece. It was enjoyable to see the fireplace take shape. The stone quality is high and the overall fit and finish is excellent. I have received numerous compliments on the fireplace and how professional it looks. I can't recommend this product highly enough. I am looking forward to many evenings this fall enjoying the fireplace.

I researched extensively when we decided to extend our patio and include and outdoor fireplace. I chose RomanStone because of the overall appearance and amazing customer reviews. Well now I am one of those amazing customer reviews. Totally satisfied from the amazing customer service to the actual build process. Maybe a little more glue as stated in other comments but that’s non big deal. Doing the project on my own took basically ten hours. I started my build on an absolute level poured concrete slab so the build was absolutely flawless. Also the amazing layer by layer diagram instructions were invaluable. If you are considering an outdoor fireplace kit you can’t go wrong with RomanStone! Next up the flagstone patio but here are some pictures of the fireplace.
JDJeff D.Verified buyer We like the firepit. My son finally was able to assemble it for us. After he got the first row of stone to be level, the rest went very quickly. Please note to those who live on a steep hill. We had a company deliver the kit in a 48 foot trailer. The driver could have backed into my driveway, but instead parked his truck going uphill. The 1800 lb. kit was at the very front of the trailer. He got a pallet truck and lifted the pallet completely off the floor and proceeded to walk to the back of the trailer. However, 1800 lbs. moves very fast on a steep incline. He lost control of the load but fortunately for him and me, he hit the corner of the trailer at the last second which stopped the momentum, broke up the packaging, and about a dozen stones fell onto the street. Some of the stones lost a small piece off the corners, but it could have been a disaster. We had to manually unload all the stone off the trailer and stack it along the curb and I had to wheel barrow it to my backyard.

If you're still shopping for a DIY Outdoor Fireplace Kit, stop right now and buy a Romanstone kit. The experience was amazing from beginning to end. Not long after placing my order, I was contacted by an extremely friendly Romanstone representative who outlined all of the details. A few weeks later, the kit arrived on 7 separate pallets. Construction took about a day longer than expected - 3 days instead of 2. The only hitch that I had to figure out were the woodbox caps because they are EXTREMELY heavy. Luckily I have a tractor with pallet forks to assist in lifting them into place. If you plan to order the woodbox kit, plan accordingly, because you'e going to need an abundance of capable manpower. Ultimately, we couldn't be happier with the way the fireplace turned out. The style of the kit almost identically matches the rest of the patio and walls that I built last summer. Thanks Romanstone! I've been recommending you to everyone I know!
