First time building an outdoor fireplace. The instructions where very easy to follow. Quality of the blocks I thought was also very good. Took three of us about three afternoons to build it. We took our time to make sure everything was level after each layer. We did wait a couple of days before installing the chimney cap. Wanted to make sure the adhesive was dry. Also wanted to figure out the safest way to install the chimney cap. I did order the chimney extension. The finished product looks great and will enjoy using it for many years.

Oh wow, great pics! That is a nice pad you have. I love the roaring fire. No offense to your neighbors, but it might be time for an evergreen screen now that you have your backyard retreat. I like the chimney cap support mod to keep the smoke away from the front, too- very smart. That is a great tip about the glue. It does extrude much better if it is warm. The gun and canister don't like the pressure it takes to extrude it cold. It likes to blow-out the bottom of the tube. Thanks for the post and pictures!
