Thanks for the review Colin, we do our best to keep the copper as clean as possible all our fabricators wear gloves and are given new ones every week but even just a little bit of moisture or oil on their gloves can start the patina process leaving marks that are not visible until a couple of days. After about 15-20 days everything should start the process and they will no longer be visible. As far as the scratching small scratches can be produced during the fabrication process as our round downspout runs through a roll forming machine that has about 50 different dies to form the downspout we routinely sand and buff the dies to minimize marks left by the process but with copper being a soft metal there will be some marks left by the process no matter how perfect our tooling is. Once the patina process starts you will not be able to notice them.
