Not sure whether it needs a boot, but it looks good. My pref would be another foot in height to see it better, and to dissipate heat higher.

I got to put this chimney cap through a test that it was never meant to experience. I took it up and put it on the roof because I needed to take the scaffolding down but I never actually put the chimney cap on the chimney and secured it. Windstorm came through and blew the chimney cap off the roof. Found it 300 feet away. Other than a few rivets popping and a slightly bent corner, the chimney cap is in incredible condition. Half a dozen new rivets and some touchup paint and it’s good as new. Before anybody judges it’s for my own personal home, so I am the customer.
