Thank you for your review. To clarify to our potential customers, the item is soldered together, not welded, so we can't expect the same for both. However, we are extremely proud of how good a a soldering job we do. As far as any markings or scratches on the copper, the material comes directly from the mill with a "mill finish". It is not polished, and there are no protective films, so the second it gets moved to be worked with, it scratches. That is the norm for any copper in the gutter/roofing industry. Copper will patina quickly as per the review, it will not be as reflective, therefore scratches will not be visible.
