The website said two weeks, but it took six. The product was sealed using caulking instead of brazing, which I took apart and repaired myself. It was a lightweight cap that could have been shipped in a box with styrofoam, saving several hundred dollars.

I really like the design and material options. Very well built. It was constructed to the exact dimensions and fit perfectly. If I would do this again I would probably go with a little heavier gauge material for the piece of mind. We get a lot of strong winds in our area. I am well pleased with and would recommend this product.

Shipping Costs: As this is a made-to-size product, rather than something mass-produced, the size of your order required LTL freight shipping. This was the only available shipping option, and the associated cost was clearly stated during the checkout process, prior to your purchase, providing you with the opportunity to reconsider or forgo the order if desired. As you made the choice to proceed with the order, we’re uncertain why this is now a concern. 2. Product Sealing: Regarding the use of caulk, this is indeed the method used on all colored models, including the one you selected, as they are made from pre-painted, Kynar-coated materials. This finish carries a manufacturer’s warranty of up to 35 years under certain conditions. If indeed brazed the product, this undoubtedly damaged the exceptional finish this product comes with, burned it, and exposed the bare metal, voiding any warranty. While we do offer soldering options for certain RAW materials, Kynar-coated metal is not one of them. The product description clearly stated that sealant would be used for collars and seams, which you selected. 3. Shipping Time: Our website currently lists a 3+ week lead time, though it may have indicated 2-3+ weeks at the time your order was placed. Since all of our chimney caps are made to order in the sequence they are received, processing times vary depending on the volume of orders. While delays of this length are rare, the end of the year is always a particularly busy period.
