DVDon V.Verified buyerExactly what I needed, when I needed it most, and at a great price. Shipping was affordable and it arrived earlier than anticipated. I now can transport my rod much easier than the heavy PCV pipe I was using.

NONiels O.Verified buyerI received my 6'6" 3wt. Deluxe Grande Ronde yesterday, my first bamboo rod. So you know my perspective, my main trout rods are graphite, Sage SP 386-3, SLT 080-3, Orvis PM10 865-4, and St. Croix Legend Ultra UFT 908 for steelhead. Out of the box, the Grande Ronde rod tube is nice, as is the sock. The rod is very nice, on par with my Sage and Orvis graphite rods. I went over it with a magnifying glass. All the guide wraps are clean, and the varnish is smooth. The reel seat and hardware are of the same quality. It looks just like the pics on Headwaters website. Casting in my backyard, in a 10-15 mph wind, I could cast 40' to 45' all day. My normal distances are 30' to 40' on the rivers I fish. When the wind died down I could reach out to 55'. The action is medium with some tip flex. I could feel flex down in the grip when throwing longer casts, but not as much as my 6'6" Cabelas glass CGR. At my typical 30' to 40' cast, the Grande Ronde is smooth and a pleasure to cast. For the price I paid and the quality of Headwaters rods, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm looking forward to getting it on the river.
DWDavid W.Verified buyerThe rod was a lot of fun and surprised me of the performance. We have guadalupe bass that are a blast on the fly rod in the Texas Hill Country
