I didn't know I was a Bourbon Whiskey drinker until I tried this on a whim. A friend had me try the botanical gin, which is fabulous too, but once I got my hands on Resurgent my mouth has never been happier! I am on my third bottle since the pandemic started. I use it to make whiskey sours and love the smoothness and taste, seriously so good!!
Where to even begin...
Revivalist have outdone themselves with this one. You will be hard pressed to find a gin even close to how unique this one is. I tend to prefer juniper-heavy gins, but the barely-there taste of juniper is perfect. Comes right out the gate with clove and anise and allows for a nice mellow ginger bite to develop over time. Cannot recommend highly enough either neat or on the rocks.
For a real fun twist, make a G&T out of this. It's flavor profile is quite different, and yet it still feels like a G&T at the end of the day.
Since I first bought Summertide, I've had some of the best G&Ts I've ever made. Makes for a good sipping gin, no doubt, and does well in a standard Negroni, but its excellence truly comes in making the classic summer gin cocktail. I doubt I'll ever go without a bottle of this on hand at all times.
