The customer service folks were great and the order was shipped to me faster than the website says. All of that was good. My only complaint is that the actual color of the pavers is mostly gray. I ordered Bethany Ledge which you can see in the screenshot from their website below (first photo.) I’m a landscaper and this was for a client. Luckily the fountain the homeowner bought looked decent with the gray color and she kept it.

We built the Princeton with two (2) batwing boxes and two (2) chimney extensions. I think it took more time to bring the blocks from my driveway to my backyard than it did to put this thing together (not really, but pretty close). We did not build it on two continuous days (weekend), but I put a couple hours in here, a couple hours in there. I personally put in about 12 hours and my wife put in about 8 or somewhere around there ... until it came to the final capstone. We were unable to put the provided capstone on top: we tried a number of different ways (but the pergola in the front prevented access from a paved surface) and renting a 4WD Scissor Lift (which I would need in order to get into my backyard and get the 120 pounds up ~14 feet) was going to take a couple weeks to receive and cost over $500. (We had a team of neighbors working with ropes and ladders trying to get the capstone to the top, but there was no way to have two people going up a pair of ladders while sharing the load.) As you can see by the picture(s), we do have a top block on there, but I built it from a little more than 120 pounds of concrete in three slabs (I poured into some homemade 28x28 boxes) that I then added adhesive to in order to try to make the three blocks really act more as one. We also added a wreath hanger (probably should have been a couple blocks up) while we were at it. There were a few blocks that I probably should have sanded down or not used as they were a bit taller than the others when laid on and this made for some less level lines ... oh well. The fireplace looks amazing for a fraction of the price of a professional install. I would recommend investing in a nicer caulk gun than the $10 ones ... my hand was in a great deal of pain for a couple weeks after the project; obviously this was not Romanstone's issue, but something I would certainly suggest to anyone about to embark on this journey. The several thousand dollars you save to build this is well worth it as it looks amazing and doesn't take a great deal of effort.

So far so good with a few minor issues. Lintel tends to want to let blocks bow in and hard to keep courses of stone above it level. First layer of smoke chamber where front course of stone sets in has to be supported until adhesive drys and several more courses are set in place...does not tell you this in instructions. More stones than I expected have chipped faces, hard to keep all of them looking good and have a few lager gaps between stones because of not being able to have 2 good faces together. Otherwise it looks great, have built more since last picture, only have a few more courses to go. Mostly have installed so far by myself with the wife helping for one afternoon. Delivery time was exceptional and packaging was great.

Great! On Time and easy assembly
BBBruce B.Verified buyer Great service, the product was exactly what I expected and the delivery driver was very helpful and accommodating. Easy to follow instructions made this project fun and rewarding. The top cap was not too tough to lift, I used the leftover pallets to get some extra height on the back of the chimney when lifting the cap using two people and a spotter.

We made this a family project and the kit made it foolproof! Kit arrived as scheduled and the fireplace and 2 fireboxes went up in a day! (slab was previously poured). I'm attaching a pic...looks just like the advertisement. Best experience I've ever had with internet ordering...from sales staff to delivery personnel...world class!

This kit made me look good. Easy and looks great. I was nervous if it would be as easy and good looking as described. Well you tell me?

No issues at all. Did the entire build by myself with the exception of installing the cap stone. Did entire build in 2 1/2 days. Didn’t really work that hard. Wore out a pair of gloves though. Instructions were simple to follow. Now we want to add the wings.
