  Fremont Fireplace

  Super happy with my finished fireplace. We had to raise the base two courses to bring level with my existing patio, but working with Terry and Paul was so easy and they gave great advice and tips. I added some accent lighting to the fireboxes and downlight under the capstones. Our outdoor space is amazing now and I now want to continue and build the kitchen island to complete the space. The most difficult part was the base and getting the levels and angles right- it literally took 2-days on my own to complete the stonework. Get help with the capstones as they are heavy.

  That is one sweet patio. You did have a unique situation, but these create unique opportunities. For those reading this review, Paul slightly modified the "Flush Riser" to raise his fireplace to be flush with his existing patio. Search "flush riser" on our site for more information. I am glad you were able to make it work so impressively with all the varying elevations. Your lighting puts the space over the top in all the right ways!   It took about 8 hours to assemble. The first layer of fire brick was a little tight but it did fit (I had to put all back-wall blocks in together). I got two people to help me lift the capstone in place. It would be nice if there was a delivery option that "went beyond" the curb because the hardest part was unpacking the four pallets at the street, putting them in my tractor, driving to my job site (250 feet), unloading them, and repeating the process 16 times. Overall I would do this again without hesitation.

  We are very happy with our purchase of The Fremont fireplace. From ordering, to customer service, right on through shipping, everything was seamless. The instructions were TERRIFIC! Honestly, I do not believe that they could possibly be any better. However, after installing and using the fireplace, there are 2 items we would like to bring to your attention. First the lintel. We feel a wider piece of angle iron would be much better. When setting the center stones atop the lintel they definitely want to lean forward and fall. We followed the instructions to the T and when we pulled out the blocks that brace, it definitely sagged a bit. We shimmed some of the mantel stones above to a perfect line which really helped with the appearance of the sag. Second, when we had our first fire, after about an hour it literally looked like it was snowing on us. I went to the store the next day and purchased some aluminum screens and cut them to fit inside the top. The openings in the screen were a little big so I layered them. The second fire and everyone since has been perfect! Please know that we couldn’t be happier with your product and the value it brings to our family, our friend, neighbor’s and our home. We just felt we needed to make you aware of a couple things that we feel could improve an already fantastic product. Thank you for the fireplace and your time reading this. Have a great day!
