AJAdam J.Verified buyer - Okay
Color was a perfect match. The size of the crimped end was too large. I needed to snip one corner to push it into the downspout and even after that it took a great deal of force to push into the downspout. You can see from the photo the elbow has buckled from the force. The 75 degree elbow I was replacing fit into the downspout with the normal amount of friction.

As an alternative to using copper the stainless wire strainer worked out fine and its strength is good
RCRobert C.Verified buyer - Don't use on existing gutters
This is a very robust guard that is most effective if installed on a new gutter system. I do not recommend using this guard on existing half round or k-style gutters as it is extremely difficult to work with. Due to the multiple breaks in the front and back of the guard, the gutter needs to be a precise fit with hidden hangers to sit well in the gutter. It is also difficult to install on existing gutters due to unintentional shingle hang and high gutter height. We had to cut notches out of the front and back to allow the guard to sit around spikes on an existing copper system. We also had to snip the back of the guard off, decreasing the height, to get the guard to fit under the slate up against the drip edge of the house. Lastly, the copper screws sent with the guard are shorter and softer than traditional zip screws. We had to be careful about torque on our drills--too much pressure and the head of the screw will shear off; too little pressure and the screw doesn't have a the force to penetrate the copper guard; too much pressure after penetration and the screw will shred a hole in softer, older copper material on an existing guard.
PMPhil M.Verified buyerHi Phil, Thanks for your review. Sorry to hear you had so much trouble installing them. Unfortunately, that gutter was installed with old school gutter spikes instead of typical gutter hangers, and that seems to be the issue, not our gutter screen. There is not much you can do other than notching out the front where the spikes are and depending on how they were installed. For example, if they are angled up not leaving enough room for the back leg like you mentioned. These gutter screens work best with ANY typical K-Style Hidden Hanger. For our customers that may be reading this, the gutter spikes shown in this review are rarely used nowadays because they get loose and fail overtime. To make it clear, most gutters will have hangers and not spikes. Please make sure the top of your gutter is at least 1" below the roof line for a proper fit.

Thanks for the review. That's normal, you can crimp more, notch the corner, or just put a rivet there to close that gap.
